New Energy Services and Heat Directorate (NESH)
The New Energy Services and Heat team is responsible for shaping the policy and regulatory agenda for the decarbonisation of heat and transport for the overall benefit of consumers. The team works across multiple vectors to promote the use of new technology to enable a more economic and flexible energy system.
Economics and Strategic Policy
The Economics and Strategic Policy team provides oversight of all high-level policy and produces analysis of topical and recurring issues. The team brings all our policy work together to provide a strategic view of the direction for the industry and how it can overcome the challenges ahead as well as looking at the numbers which make the industry tick.
Communicating our messages to the media, government and stakeholders comes in a variety of different ways including briefings with journalists, news releases and social media as well as championing on issues ranging from renewable energy to energy efficiency. Energy UK works with government and political stakeholders, providing a forum for the industry to share its insight and information with policymakers.
Events and membership
Energy UK provides a wealth of information, briefing material and other resources to member firms. Our work ranges from issue-specific briefings, newsletters and activity updates to member-focused briefing events and public conferences. Energy UK runs groups, open to all members, where issues of common concern can be openly debated and discussed. There are also committees that help lead on industry solutions. We also host a range of dinners and breakfast briefings where, as a leading representative organisation, we seek to help members stay abreast of new developments in the industry.
