Commission study comparing the cost and prices of energy in EU/globally
“Energy costs are, on average, less in the UK than other EU countries. But, it is a real concern that Europe is becoming progressively out of step with the countries with which it trades.
This makes our industries less competitive and the costs for households greater. As a priority, the EU and Member States must consider the energy policies they make from the perspective of cost effectiveness, affordability, security of supply and the competitiveness of industry in the EU. From now this must be at the heart of European policy making.”
