Energy UK recognises best Young Energy Professionals
Exceptional new talent in the UK energy sector was celebrated at the first ever Young Energy Professionals (YEP) Awards ceremony. Tom Greatrex – the former shadow Energy Minister – said the awards demonstrate the skills and expertise the UK’s sector will need to meet the country’s future energy needs. The event was sponsored by EY.
The awards were for five key categories: leadership; innovation; customer focus; rising star; and the EY YEP of the Year. The winners were:
• Leadership: Hannah Brown, EDF Energy
• Innovation: Patrick O'Rourke, ESB
• Customer Focus: Elizabeth Garber, EDF Energy
• Rising Star: Benjamin Comninos, Centrica
• EY YEP of the Year 2015: Susan McDonald, National Grid
Lawrence Slade, acting chief executive of Energy UK, said:
“The UK’s energy industry is home to a sparkling array of talent. Tonight’s winners help highlight the role the leaders of tomorrow will play. Energy UK and its members set up the Young Energy Professionals Forum to foster talent and help develop the skills and expertise the country will need for the future.
“Congratulations to all YEP winners and thank you to judges, entrants and sponsors, EY and the members of the YEP Steering Group, for their support.”
