Energy UK's statement on the Imbalance Settlement Period (ISP)
Energy UK issued a statement on the harmonisation of the Imbalance Settlement Period in Europe.
Lawrence Slade, chief executive of Energy UK, said:
“The decision on harmonising the Imbalance Settlement Period (ISP) and its actual value will be based on the outcome of a pan-European cost-benefit analysis (CBA). Energy UK and our members are actively contributing to the CBA. It is important the impact of such a move is well understood both at a national and European level before any decision is made. We are working closely with National Grid, Ofgem and DECC to get a comprehensive view of the consequences of any change to the current situation. This includes any potential impact on consumers such as the smart meter roll out and the move to faster switching.”
