Energy UK comments on Citizens Advice complaints data
Energy UK has commented on the latest complaints league table published by Citizens Advice. Energy UK said:
“The latest data shows many suppliers have improved their customer service. Companies work hard to get things right and, when things do go wrong, most complaints are dealt with by the end of the next working day with no more than a phone call.
“The energy industry has undergone significant change in the last few years with some major suppliers making big investments in new account management systems and a record number of new suppliers competing for consumers. In those circumstances it is not a surprise to see a range of complaints data as systems bed in and suppliers have to adapt to quick growth in their customer numbers.
“With more than 40 suppliers operating in the market customers can shop around and choose the supplier that best suits them. The greater ease with which consumers can access trusted information on price and service means many more people feel confident about making good choices on their energy supply.”
