Energy UK announces a series of free legal advice webinars on preparing for a no-deal Brexit

Energy UK, in collaboration with the international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills, is offering a series of free webinars to provide advice on the regulatory and legal aspects that UK-based businesses need to consider as part of their no-deal preparations.

The series of webinars will focus on key areas for businesses to consider as part of preparations for the potential scenario where the UK leaves the EU without a deal on 31 October 2019. These range from contractual issues to energy trading and import and export rules.

Funding for the webinar series follows a successful bid from Energy UK made to the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) ‘Business Readiness Fund.’

Lawrence Slade, chief executive at Energy UK, said:

“The UK energy sector has been working for some considerable time, in conjunction with the Government, to prepare as much as is possible for a range of Brexit outcomes, including that of a no-deal scenario. With only two weeks to go until a possible no-deal Brexit we wanted to provide advice to UK-based businesses who may require further information and support on what a possible no-deal Brexit scenario means for their business, and we are pleased to offer these free legal webinars in conjunction with the international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills.”
